Something good to know!

Hello again it is Lauren Thompson and I have some more information about mechanical engineering. This week I wanted to understand more about how mechanical engineering jobs are going to be like for future upcoming engineers and I found some shocking facts. According to the article "Preparing Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Students For The Global Marketplace—New Demands And Requirements", most companies are outsourcing their projects. This means that they will send projects to other countries such as India to get them completed. The thing about this is that since they are going outside the country, in this case US, people who live in the US have competition to go against to obtain a great job. Since they have this competition to do well the upcoming engineers must bring value to their work that surpasses others. By bringing value to your work you are showing your worth and this makes you more appealing to companies and you can therefore get a nice job. I am not saying that outsourcing is bad at all since this does positively help companies financially and makes it more efficient, but if new mechanical engineers are trying to get a great job they have to show that their work will bring value to companies.
