Biology is reducing CO2?

This past week, I have currently continued my studies in different methods to prevent pollution from increasing and found information about oxygen- separation membranes. In the air, there is approximately 21% oxygen and mainly made up of nitrogen. According to the article "Oxygen-Separation Membranes Could Aid in CO2 Reduction”, there is a membrane that a group of scholars has studied and improved that is able to pull pure oxygen from the air instead of various gases that may be in the air. They call the membrane ion transport. This is where the oxygen would move to the side of the membrane that has less oxygen on that certain side. I thought this was fascinating since this is one of the subjects we had talked about in my biology class. In a process called diffusion, the substance will move to the side where there is less of that substance. It was interesting to see that some of the basic skills we learn and may take for granted can help solve many problems around the world. Furthermore, this week I will have to do even more research for my Original Work. I will focus on finding a company or business that may be struggling with lowing their pollution or just businesses in general. Right now it has been difficult to find companies since after researching which companies contribute the most to pollution it was related to fossil fuels. People can only do so much to try to help limit the amount of pollution secreted from those types of plants, but maybe this week I may find a way to help transition over to renewable resources.
